Surrey United Soccer Club launches raffle with a Mexico trip grand prize to raise $250K for a new training facility at Cloverdale Athletic Park.
The Surrey United Soccer Club (SUSC) has launched a community raffle featuring a grand prize trip to Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit. The draw is part of a major fundraising campaign to support the construction of a new state-of-the-art training facility at Cloverdale Athletic Park.
Club president Ali Wilkinson described the initiative as a “key milestone” in SUSC’s long-term efforts to expand and modernize its facilities. All proceeds will go into the club’s capital fund to offset construction and equipment costs. Wilkinson emphasized the importance of ensuring players and families in Surrey have access to “high-quality soccer facilities right here in our home park.”
Along with the all-inclusive trip for two to the Riu Vallarta resort, other top prizes include a custom-installed audio-visual package, a Whistler weekend getaway, and an Apple iPad Air. Early bird prizes range from local restaurant gift cards to an $825 wellness package. The final grand prize draw will take place on October 25 at noon.
Tickets are available for $10 each through the club’s website, surreyunitedsoccer.com. With only 25,000 tickets available, the raffle aims to generate $250,000 for the facility project. Wilkinson encouraged community members to share the campaign widely, saying, “Let’s make this campaign a success together.”
The covered turf training building, set for completion within the next 12 months, represents years of advocacy by the club for park improvements in Cloverdale. The facility will provide athletes with a modern, year-round space to develop their skills and compete at higher levels.
SUSC, one of Surrey’s largest soccer organizations, views the project as more than an investment in infrastructure. The new training centre is expected to benefit not only its players but also the broader community by offering expanded recreational opportunities and fostering youth development through sport.
