A quiet Sunday afternoon in Delta turned tragic when a two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 69-year-old woman. The collision happened at the busy intersection of 116 Street and 77 Avenue, drawing an immediate response from emergency crews.
Delta Fire Department teams and BC Paramedics worked quickly to save lives at the scene. Despite their efforts, the female passenger could not be revived and was pronounced dead.
Delta Police say 116 Street will remain closed between 75A Avenue and 80 Avenue for several hours as investigators piece together what happened. Collision analysts have been called in to study the crash site.
Early reports indicate that impairment does not appear to have played a role. However, officers stress that the investigation is ongoing, and every detail is being examined carefully.
