White Rock Elks raise $15,000 for BC Feed the Kids to fight child hunger in White Rock and Surrey, ensuring local students get healthy meals.

Community Rallies for a Cause

The White Rock Elks Lodge #431 turned compassion into action last weekend, hosting a sold-out fundraiser that brought the community together for a vital cause. On Saturday, Sept. 27, the Elks Hall was filled with supporters eager to make a difference, ultimately raising $15,000 for the BC Feed the Kids Foundation.

Supporting Local Children

Every dollar raised will help provide nutritious meals to students across White Rock, Surrey, and beyond. The BC Feed the Kids Foundation, based in White Rock, has been addressing food insecurity by ensuring children don’t go to school hungry. The charity provides breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks to schools throughout the region.

A Night of Generosity and Gratitude

Elks charity and fundraising committee member Bob O’Keefe said the night exceeded expectations. “It was a tremendous success. We’re thrilled to share that 100 per cent of the proceeds went directly to support the foundation’s vital work,” O’Keefe shared in an email statement.

How the Event Came Together

The fundraiser drew strong support from local sponsors and dedicated Elks volunteers, whose contributions made the evening possible. Guests enjoyed entertainment, food, and raffles — all in the spirit of helping children in need. The collaboration between community members and organizations highlighted White Rock’s enduring commitment to caring for its neighbours.

Fighting Food Insecurity

With many B.C. families struggling to keep up with rising food costs, the work of BC Feed the Kids has become more crucial than ever. The organization continues to expand its reach, aiming to eliminate childhood hunger one meal at a time.
