Foundry Surrey Central Opens, Offering Free Support for Youth Mental Health
Surrey, BC – A major boost for youth wellness arrived today with the opening of Foundry Surrey Central, a new, fully accessible mental health and wellness hub for young people aged 12 to 24. Located at 10280 City Parkway, the centre offers free and confidential services including same-day counselling, peer support, and coordinated care for mental health and substance use challenges.
Local officials and youth advocates called the launch a milestone for Surrey, where long-standing barriers to mental health access have impacted families across diverse communities. With this opening, Surrey joins an expanding provincial network of Foundry centres dedicated to timely support, resilience-building, and early intervention.
BC Health Minister Josie Osborne emphasized the urgency of the initiative, noting, “Too many youth face mental health challenges alone or wait too long for help. Foundry delivers immediate, accessible support giving Surrey’s next generation the care they need to thrive.”
The hub offers both walk-in and virtual appointments, ensuring flexibility for young people and caregivers. As conversations around youth mental health continue nationwide, Foundry Surrey Central stands as a hopeful step forward bringing care closer to home and strengthening a community deeply invested in its future leaders.
