Veteran B.C. wheelchair curler Ina Forrest is nominated for her fifth Paralympics in Milano Cortina 2026 aiming to add to her two golds and two bronzes.
Spallumcheen, B.C. British Columbia’s wheelchair curling legend Ina Forrest is on the brink of making more history: she’s been nominated to compete in her fifth Paralympic Winter Games, set to take place in Milano Cortina in March 2026.
At age and experience, Forrest’s journey is deeply personal and meaningful. She says every Paralympics has felt special, but this one is “especially meaningful” because she missed qualifying for the 2006 Torino Games, a pivotal moment early in her career.
If her nomination gets final approval from the Canadian Paralympic Committee, she’ll be joined by fellow curlers Mark Ideson, Collinda Joseph, Gilbert Dash, and Jon Thurston to form Canada’s mixed wheelchair curling team.
Forrest’s Paralympic track record is nothing short of stellar: she has already won two gold medals and two bronze medals across four Games.Canada’s wheelchair curling team, historically strong, is also aiming for its sixth consecutive Paralympic medal, having never missed the podium since the sport’s debut in 2006.
This time, Forrest also brings leadership: she was recently named one of six co-captains for Canada’s 2026 Paralympic Team.
As the Milano Cortina Games approach (March 6–15, 2026), Forrest’s potential fifth Paralympic appearance is being celebrated as a testament to her skill, dedication, and enduring legacy in Para sport.
