Surrey Council Approves Two-Tower Project at 108 Avenue and King George Boulevard
Surrey council has given third-reading approval to a major two-tower development at the northwest corner of 108 Avenue and King George Boulevard, advancing one of Whalley’s most significant upcoming projects.
The decision came during Monday’s public hearing on November 17. Mayor Brenda Locke described the proposal as “a very ambitious and beautiful project.”
What’s Being Built
The development, owned by King George Blvd Holdings Ltd., covers several lots at:
• 13534, 13542, 13546, 13552, 13576 King George Boulevard
• 13483, 13495, 13511 – 108 Avenue
The site currently includes a small commercial plaza and a place of worship.
Approved plans include:
• 52-storey residential tower
– 464 market strata units
• 48-storey mixed-use tower
– Retail + office space in the podium
– 415 market strata units above
In total, the project will deliver 879 new homes, along with significant retail and office additions to the growing Whalley city centre.
Timeline
Developers expect the residential units to be ready for occupancy by December 2030, aligning with the city’s long-term plans to densify the King George corridor and expand the urban core.
