Music That Moves the Heart
To begin with, Lisa Brokop returns home for a heartfelt show. On Monday, Nov. 24, she takes the stage at Cloverdale’s Shannon Hall with her Hometown Hall of Fame concert. Moreover, the night features storytelling, great music and rising opener Chase Varnes, only 14 years old.
Next, music lovers can enjoy Take It To the Limit, a high-energy Eagles tribute on Friday, Nov. 21 at Bell Performing Arts Centre. For tickets, call 604-507-6355.
Furthermore, holiday spirit kicks in with The Celtic Tenors on Thursday, Nov. 27, offering a warm blend of classics and modern favourites. Then, fantasy fans will rejoice with The Music of The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit & The Rings of Power, live in concert on Dec. 2.
Afterward comes cinematic magic The Music of Hans Zimmer & Others, on Dec. 3, featuring iconic soundtracks from Dune, Interstellar, Top Gun and more.
Finally, festive tribute shows such as ABBA Christmas and An Elvis Christmas in Hawaii bring sparkle, nostalgia and island vibes to December nights.
Theatre & Panto for All Ages
Joy grows across Surrey stages. The Hansel & Gretel Panto (Nov. 19–30) promises mischief, music and candy-coated chaos. Additionally, A Very Puppet Christmas features ventriloquist Norma McKnight on Nov. 30, perfect for families.
Later on, The Little Mermaid and Where the Wild Things Are arrive, followed by the charming O Christmas Tea and the hilarious reunion story Bingo in January.
Dance, Rhythm & Wonder
Dance takes the spotlight soon. First, the Ancestral Echoes Dance Symposium on Nov. 22 celebrates tradition and movement with performances and discussion. Then, the Firestorm Crew Anniversary Battle and the iconic Nutcracker Ballet present dazzling displays of talent.
Soon after, The Fairy Doll and Colours of Punjab keep the rhythm alive. And ultimately, dancers of all ages can enjoy workshops across the city.
Family Fun & Holiday Magic
Surrey is glowing with family joy. To begin with:
- Bear Creek Lights (Nov. 7–21)
- WinterFest at Museum of Surrey (Nov. 22–Dec. 20)
- Santa Pix for pets and families (Nov. 29)
- Skating at Surrey Civic Plaza (Dec. 1–Feb. 16)
As December unfolds, Surrey Tree Lighting Festival, Noel Surrey, and Santa Parade of Lights light up the night. Even more, workshops like the Cedar Reindeer Workshop and Victorian Christmas Evening offer hands-on holiday creativity.
Art, Culture & Creativity
Art shines brightly this season. The Family Art Party arrives Nov. 30 with crafting, dancing and sensory-friendly spaces. Meanwhile, Surrey Art Gallery exhibits explore movement, identity and imagination. Additionally, monthly Artist Talks invite everyone to learn and create.
Talks, Community & Connection
Surrey builds conversation through events such as Voices of Resilience, featuring Bassem Youssef and Dr. Gabor Maté. Also, Seniors cafés, youth awards, literacy tutoring, networking events, volunteer opportunities, and tree planting programs keep community spirit strong.
Final Thought
This season, Surrey welcomes everyone. After music comes magic. After stories comes laughter. And after every event comes connection. So, step out. Bring friends. Share joy. And most importantly make memories that last.
