Flames dominate Canucks 5-2 with five different goal scorers and a three-assist night from Rasmus Andersson. A fast-paced victory full of momentum.

A Blazing Start in Vancouver

What a night in Vancouver! The Calgary Flames stormed into Rogers Arena and, surprisingly, found scoring magic from all over the lineup. Goals came from Morgan Frost, Connor Zary, Kevin Bahl, Yegor Sharangovich, and Blake Coleman, while Rasmus Andersson sparked the offense with three sharp assists. Meanwhile, goalie Dustin Wolf stood calm and steady, turning aside 28 shots with confidence and energy.

Although the Canucks struck first just 65 seconds in the Flames pushed back quickly. In fact, they never looked nervous, never looked rushed, and never looked out of sync. Instead, they pushed, passed, pressed, and powered through the opening frame.

Momentum Shifts Fast and Furious

First, Filip Hronek opened the scoring for Vancouver. Then, just minutes later, Frost evened the score with a perfect tip from the slot. Next, only 35 seconds after that goal, Zary buried a rebound and flipped the lead Calgary’s way.

Even though Vancouver led in shots after the first period, the Flames kept finding more speed, more space, and more scoring chances. Consequently, the entire tone of the night changed.

Flames Take Control and Never Look Back

Midway through the second period, Bahl fired one from the left circle and made it 3–1. After that, Sharangovich capitalized on another rebound and suddenly the Flames led 4–1. Then, just eight minutes into the final frame, Coleman scored shorthanded after a costly Vancouver giveaway. Clearly, the Flames were buzzing, attacking, supporting, and believing.

However, the Canucks briefly answered when Quinn Hughes sprinted coast-to-coast on the power play and buried his own rebound. Still, Calgary never looked shaken, never looked tired, and never looked done.

Standout Performances Everywhere

Surprisingly, no Flame scored twice but nearly everyone contributed. Altogether, Kadri and Coleman both collected two points, while Bahl and Andersson finished the night at plus-4. Additionally, Andersson created scoring chances again and again, and Wolf stayed sharp from start to finish.

Although Hughes logged more than 30 minutes and six shots, the Canucks couldn’t stop the Flames’ momentum. Even with four power plays each, only Vancouver scored with the man advantage.

What Comes Next?

The Canucks will aim to bounce back when they host the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, the Flames despite still sitting at the bottom of the Pacific Division are suddenly just one point behind Vancouver. Furthermore, they’ve now won three games in a row, played with confidence, skated with purpose, and proved that momentum can turn fast.
