From Hawaiian-style Elvis to heartwarming jazz and elegant orchestral performances, every show offers a different flavour. And best of all, each one promises to lift your spirits. Elvis Takes Christmas to Hawaii

Elvis tribute phenomenon Ben Klein returns with a brand-new twist on his holiday show. This time, he’s heading straight to the islands with An Elvis Christmas in Hawaii. The show runs at Peninsula Productions’ studio theatre from Dec. 5 to 7, and fans are encouraged to dress the part. So, dust off that Hawaiian shirtor even better, a grass skirt and join the fun.

Last year’s performance was a major hit. Therefore, this version promises even more excitement. Additionally, the Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7 p.m., while the Sunday matinee is already sold out. Clearly, the buzz is strong.

Jazz Family Reunion Brings Warmth

Next, the White Rock Traditional Jazz Society offers a family-style celebration filled with heart. On Sunday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m., a special reunion takes the stage at the Royal Canadian Legion Crescent Branch 240.

The legendary Arntzen family a musical powerhouse from B.C. will reunite with jazz patriarch Lloyd Arntzen, performing alongside his grandson Arnt Arntzen, a talented banjoist returning home after performing with prestigious New York big bands. Also performing are celebrated vocalists Holly and Georgina Arntzen, plus a dynamic supporting band.

Their signature blend of New Orleans jazz and swing delivers energy, tradition and joy. Furthermore, audiences get hometown warmth mixed with classic rhythm an ideal combo for holiday mood.

Classical Charm with the City Orchestra

Finally, the White Rock City Orchestra brings elegance to the season with its annual event:
Merry Nostalgic Christmas and a Happy Viennese New Year.

Performances take place at St. Mark’s Anglican Church on:

  • Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.

The orchestra has grown impressively and now performs at Beethoven-style symphony size. Led by artistic director Bruce Petherick, the show mixes beloved holiday songs, classical highlights and a sing-along portion. Then, the second half shifts to graceful Viennese waltzes. Consequently, the evening flows smoothly from cozy to grand.

Moreover, popular pieces include:
Shostakovich’s Waltz No. 2, Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, Strauss’ Blue Danube, Jingle Bell Fantasy, A Holst Christmas, Stille Nacht and more. Conductor Jin Zhang, known for his work in the Asian music scene and major local orchestras, leads the charge.
