Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) officers rushed to the 10400 block of 152 Street at 11:40 p.m. on November 28 after several callers reported gunfire.

When officers reached the scene, they found a man suffering from critical injuries. They attempted lifesaving measures, but he died on site.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now taken over the case. This marks Surrey’s sixth homicide of 2025.

IHIT officers are working closely with the Surrey Police Service (SPS) and Surrey RCMP to complete key investigative steps. Detectives are examining evidence, collecting witness accounts, and reviewing nearby surveillance footage.

Investigators say the motive remains unclear, but early findings suggest the shooting was targeted. They also confirm it does not appear linked to Surrey’s recent extortion-related incidents.

IHIT is urging anyone with information or dashcam video from the area to come forward.
Residents can contact the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

IHIT will release further updates as the investigation progresses.
