Pedestrian critically injured in South Surrey collision

A woman was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of King George Boulevard and 40 Avenue in South Surrey early Monday evening.

Police investigation underway

According to Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton of the Surrey Police Service, the incident occurred around 6:12 p.m., when emergency crews responded and transported the woman to hospital by ambulance.

“Several other vehicles were also involved in minor collisions with each other as a result of the initial collision with the pedestrian. No one else was injured,” Houghton said.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Appeal for witnesses

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV or dashcam footage to contact the Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502, quoting file number 2025-97039 (SP).
