SPS arrest man wanted on over 30 charges by Calgary Police Service
On October 29, 2025, Calgary Police asked Surrey officers to help find a suspect believed to be hiding in this region. Surrey Police Service assigned its Prolific Offenders Team to lead the local search and coordinate with Alberta investigators and federal partners.
The team worked with Calgary Police, the Alberta Provincial Crown and the RCMP’s E Division Fugitive Return Program to track the man’s movements and confirm his identity.
Arrest made in Burnaby
On December 11, SPS officers located the suspect in Burnaby. They moved in, arrested him without incident and had him remanded while Alberta officials prepared to return him to Calgary.
The accused, 39-year-old Tyler Joshua Evoy, now awaits transport under the supervision of the Alberta Sheriffs Branch.
Range of alleged offences
According to SPS, warrants for Evoy list more than 30 Criminal Code and related charges. These include multiple counts of criminal harassment under section 264(2)(b) and several counts of distributing an intimate image without consent under section 162.1(1).
He also faces multiple allegations of failing to comply with court orders, which can cover breaches of release conditions, probation terms or other judicial directions.
Ongoing investigation and media contacts
Because Calgary Police Service laid the charges, they remain the lead agency on the broader case. Any questions about the investigation, the alleged victims or court proceedings are being directed to Calgary’s media relations unit at 403‑428‑7979.
For Surrey residents, the SPS arrest man wanted on over 30 charges by Calgary Police Service highlights how local officers work with out‑of‑province partners to locate high‑risk suspects and bring them back to face justice where the charges originated.
