Surrey Police Seek More Victims in Child Exploitation Case

Surrey Police Investigate Child Exploitation Case

Surrey Police Service (SPS) and the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) are calling on the public for help in a serious child exploitation investigation. The probe, which began in 2024, has already led to two arrests, but authorities believe more victims may exist.

Timeline of the Investigation

In October 2024, the Surrey RCMP Special Victims Unit (SVU) opened an investigation into alleged child sexual abuse material offenses that reportedly occurred between 2021 and 2024. Over the course of the investigation, a man and a woman were identified as suspects.

By December 10, 2025, the BC Prosecution Service approved charges against 28-year-old Carter Cooke and 21-year-old Tkhu Khyonh “Mika” Nhuien. Police have released their photos in hopes of reaching additional victims or witnesses who may have crucial information.

Charges Against the Accused

Carter Cooke, 28, faces multiple charges, including:

  • Possession and accessing of child pornography
  • Distribution of child pornography (four counts)
  • Sexual interference of a person under 16 (three counts)
  • Luring a child under 18 (two counts)
  • Making child pornography (three counts)

Tkhu Khyonh “Mika” Nhuien, 21, is charged with:

  • Sexual interference of a person under 16 (three counts)
  • Luring a child under 18 (two counts)
  • Making child pornography (three counts)

Police Urge Anyone With Information to Come Forward

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Surrey Police non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and reference file number 25-156955 (SU). Police emphasize the investigation is ongoing and that tips could help identify further victims.
