Surrey crews respond to late night fire
A quiet North Surrey street was shaken Sunday night after a deadly fire broke out inside a recreational vehicle. Surrey Police Service and Surrey Fire Services were called to the 12200 block of 102 Avenue around 9 pm following reports of flames and heavy smoke
Recreational vehicle engulfed in flames
When crews arrived, the RV was fully engulfed. Firefighters worked quickly to control the blaze while police assisted at the scene. A nearby home was evacuated as a precaution, although the residence and its occupants were not harmed during the incident
Two people found deceased
After the fire was extinguished, responders discovered two people dead inside the recreational vehicle. Authorities described the outcome as tragic and confirmed that both Surrey Police Service and Surrey Fire Services are now working together to determine what caused the fire
Investigation underway
Investigators returned to the scene Monday to continue examining evidence and speaking with potential witnesses. Officials have not released the identities of the deceased, and no cause has been confirmed at this stage
