Knife Attack Shakes Vancouver Nightlife
Vancouver’s vibrant Yaletown district witnessed a violent incident early Monday morning. Just before 3 a.m. on December 29, police were called to a nightclub near Nelson and Hamilton streets after reports of a man being slashed in the face.
Witnesses quickly stepped in, providing first aid to the victim before authorities arrived. Thankfully, the man survived the attack and was treated in hospital for injuries that were serious but not life-threatening.
Suspect Arrested at the Scene
Vancouver Police arrested a 31-year-old Delta resident, Paramveer Singh Jhooti, outside the nightclub. Authorities said the attack was targeted, ruling out the possibility that it was a random act of violence.
Jhooti now faces one count of aggravated assault and remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
