Record Sale for Langley’s Historic Farm

Langley’s well-known Driediger Farms property has a new owner after selling the last part of its land in a landmark agricultural deal. The final 78-acre portion of the farm, which includes a frozen fruit processing plant, was listed at $26 million, making it the highest-priced farm sale ever on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in the region.

About the Farm and the Historic Sale

Driediger Farms has been a fixture in the Fraser Valley for decades, known for its berries and processing operation. The owner, Rhonda Driediger, had been considering selling for several years, looking for the right match for the property, her staff and the legacy she built. Because of its size and price, the farm was divided into three sections before being sold.

Realtor Rajin Gill said the property is truly unique, describing it as a “one-of-a-kind agricultural property” with deep roots in the community.

New Owner Plans Continued Farming

According to the realtor, the unnamed new owner plans to keep the land in agriculture and operate the processing facility. That means the farm will likely stay in berry production and related activities, keeping its role in the local industry intact.

Driediger noted that the property is inside the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), so it cannot be redeveloped. She also said she is pleased with the buyers and confident they will carry on the farm’s work.

What Comes Next for the Farm and Owner

Smaller parts of the Driediger land were sold earlier in the year to nearby neighbours who expanded their operations. Now that the final parcel has sold, Driediger says she looks forward to retirement and exploring new projects, though she hasn’t shared details about what those might be.

Incorporated in 1964, Driediger Farms has been a major supplier and distributor of fresh and frozen berries across markets in North America and beyond. While seasonal U-pick offerings have ended, the farm’s legacy continues through its processing work and community presence.
