Vancouver police are on the lookout for a suspect following a stabbing in the city’s Downtown Eastside on Wednesday afternoon. The incident happened near the busy intersection of East Hastings Street and Gore Avenue.
Victim Stabbed in the Back
According to the Vancouver Police Department, the victim reported getting into an altercation with the suspect. The confrontation turned violent when the suspect allegedly “pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the back twice before walking away.”
Quick Action by Bystanders
After the attack, the victim ran to a nearby business for help. Staff immediately called emergency services, and he was quickly taken to hospital. Police confirmed that his injuries were not life-threatening, allowing him to receive treatment promptly.
Police Seek Grey-Hooded Suspect
Investigators are now asking the public for assistance in locating the suspect. At the time of the attack, he was seen wearing a grey hoodie and dark pants. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Vancouver police.
