Surrey secures two new community clinics, improving access to family doctors for residents in City Centre and Newton by fall 2026.
Surrey Takes a Major Step Toward Better Access to Family Doctors
Surrey, B.C. – Big news for residents seeking family doctors: Surrey is moving forward with its very first community medical clinics. Lease agreements for two locations have been finalized, bringing easier access to primary care closer to home.
Mayor Brenda Locke emphasised the impact: “These first two clinics are a concrete step toward making sure more Surrey residents can see a family doctor when they need one. Too many people in our city don’t have reliable access to primary care. These clinics will connect families and individuals with physicians they can count on for years to come.”
Clinic Locations and Partnerships
City Council has approved five-year lease agreements for spaces in City Centre and Newton. Both clinics will be run by Total Life Care Granville Medical Inc. (TLC) through a partnership model endorsed by Council earlier this year.
The City Centre clinic will be located at #210, 10362 King George Blvd., a 2,000-square-foot unit adjacent to a Fraser Health public health unit and other healthcare providers. Meanwhile, the Newton clinic will occupy a newly built 2,900-square-foot commercial space at 12757 76 Ave.
Each clinic is expected to host roughly 10 physicians, offering a wide range of primary care services once operational.
Moving Toward Opening Day
Joey Brar, General Manager of Corporate Services, shared the next steps: “With the locations secured, we can now prepare the clinic spaces and welcome physicians. Our goal is to have the clinics ready to begin seeing patients as soon as possible.”
The clinics are targeted to open this fall, pending construction progress and regulatory approvals, giving Surrey residents a long-awaited boost in family doctor access.
