Vancouver Swifties may get refunds after StubHub agrees to fix ticket info and address obstructed-view seats at Taylor Swift’s 2024 Eras Tour shows.

StubHub Reaches Deal: Refunds Possible for Vancouver Swifties

Some Taylor Swift fans who attended the pop superstar’s Eras Tour in Vancouver might be eligible for refunds following a new agreement between StubHub Canada and Consumer Protection B.C.

Thousands packed BC Place in early December 2024 for the final leg of Swift’s record-breaking tour. While most had a blast, some fans discovered their pricey tickets came with obstructed or limited views — leaving them frustrated and out of pocket.

Attorney General Praises Agreement

B.C. Attorney General Niki Sharma called the settlement a win for Swifties.

“When you don’t know and you spend a lot of money and show up at a concert, and can’t see anything, then that’s clearly a problem,” Sharma said.

The agreement, finalized on Feb. 23, 2026, followed a consumer complaint and an investigation into StubHub’s ticket-selling practices.

What StubHub Must Do

Under the deal, StubHub must:

  • Improve ticket information disclosures to comply with B.C.’s Ticket Sales Act.
  • Pay $2,500 to the Consumer Advancement Fund.
  • Cover over $6,000 in inspection costs for Consumer Protection B.C.

Fans who purchased tickets for sections 219–236, 336, or 418–437 for the December 6–8, 2024 concerts may be eligible for a refund if their ticket failed to disclose an obstructed or limited view. StubHub plans to contact eligible buyers by May 1, 2026.

B.C. Law Protects Ticket Buyers

B.C. law mandates that ticket sellers and platforms clearly reveal ticket details and full pricing before purchase.

Louise Hartland, director of public relations for Consumer Protection B.C., emphasised:

“People buying tickets in B.C. have the right to clear, accurate information about what they are purchasing and what it will cost before they buy.”

Allegations Against StubHub

Documents from the case note allegations that StubHub did not clearly disclose the ticket’s face value, fees, taxes, or terms and conditions. They also say the platform failed to guarantee tickets matched their description for B.C. events.

StubHub has not admitted to the allegations, and no formal finding or decision has been made.
