Surrey celebrates youth leadership at the Surrey Steps Up Showcase, where young changemakers share inspiring stories and community impact.
Surrey Youth Take Centre Stage
Surrey will shine a bright light on its young leaders at the Surrey Steps Up Youth Showcase. The event celebrates local youth who turn ideas into action and make their community stronger.
City leaders, community members, and media will gather at City Hall to hear powerful stories from young changemakers. These youth did not wait for change. Instead, they created it.
Mayor Brenda Locke and Surrey City Council will welcome guests and recognize the young people who continue to shape the city’s future.
Young Changemakers Share Their Stories
Several inspiring youth will step forward to share how their work helps others.
For example:
- Anaya Jain will speak about Storykeepers, a project that preserves stories and voices from the community.
- Elizabeth Yang will highlight Artlift, which uses art to uplift and connect people.
- Olivia Zhang will discuss Young Architects for Change, a youth-driven effort that explores creative solutions for better spaces.
