Gunfire Investigation Underway in Cloverdale

Police in Surrey are investigating a shooting incident after reports of gunfire near a business in the Cloverdale area.

Officers responded to the scene near 58 Avenue and 176 Street after witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots during the afternoon.

When police arrived, investigators located damage to at least one business believed to have been struck by gunfire.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Vehicle Fire Investigated for Possible Connection

Shortly after the shooting incident, emergency crews were also called to a vehicle fire in another nearby area of Surrey.

Investigators are now examining whether the burned vehicle may be connected to the earlier shooting.

At this stage, police say the motive behind the gunfire remains unknown.

Authorities have also indicated the incident is not currently believed to be connected to recent extortion-related violence seen elsewhere in Surrey.

Major Crime Detectives Leading Investigation

Surrey Police Service’s Major Crime Section has taken over the investigation as officers continue gathering evidence from both scenes.

Forensic investigators are expected to review surveillance footage, collect physical evidence, and speak with potential witnesses.

Traffic disruptions were reported near the crime scene while police processed the area.

Authorities are asking anyone with dashcam footage, CCTV recordings, or information related to the incident to contact investigators.

Public Safety Concerns Continue Growing

The incident adds to growing public concern surrounding shootings and violent crime incidents across Metro Vancouver.

Business owners and residents in Surrey have increasingly voiced concerns about safety and criminal activity affecting local communities.

Police continue encouraging the public to report suspicious activity and cooperate with ongoing investigations.

Police Continue Seeking Witnesses

Investigators say community cooperation may play an important role in helping identify suspects and determine exactly what led to the shooting.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident is being urged to contact Surrey Police.

As the investigation remains active, authorities are expected to provide additional updates if new information becomes available.
