Good to Be Seen: a story of recovery

Good to Be Seen is a new Kelowna‑based documentary that follows Battlestar Galactica actor Michael Hogan as he rebuilds his life after a devastating brain injury. The film tracks his physical and emotional recovery, focusing on themes of reclaiming voice and identity after trauma.

Producers Norm Coyne and Jeremy Picco, both from Kelowna, are leading the project with support from co‑director Kate Kroll. They frame Hogan’s journey as a testament to resilience, community and the healing power of art.

Upcoming B.C. documentary features last interview with legendary Graham Greene

The upcoming B.C. documentary features last interview with legendary Graham Greene, making it especially significant for fans and film historians. Greene, an Oscar‑nominated actor for his role as Kicking Bird in Dances With Wolves, appears in the film because of his close friendship with Hogan.

The Indigenous star from Oneida Nation died on Sept. 1, 2025, which means his conversation in Good to Be Seen is among his final on‑screen moments. Producers say his presence adds profound historical and emotional weight to the documentary.

Honouring an Indigenous trailblazer

Producer Norm Coyne, a member of the Syilx Okanagan Nation, says interviewing Greene felt deeply personal. He describes Greene as someone who did more than “open doors” for Indigenous creators; he held them open for those who followed.

Coyne credits Greene with proving that Indigenous stories belong at the centre of cinema, not just at the edges. Sitting down with him for this project, he says, was a gift he will carry for life.

Legacy that lives on through film

Co‑director Kate Kroll notes that Greene’s interview captures everything he stood for: truth, strength and representation. She believes his voice in the film will continue to educate and inspire new generations of viewers and filmmakers.

Because the upcoming B.C. documentary features last interview with legendary Graham Greene, the filmmakers see it as both a tribute and a responsibility. They hope audiences will feel the weight of his words as they watch Hogan’s story unfold.

What’s next for the documentary

Good to Be Seen is expected to complete production in early 2026. The team plans to launch the film with a world premiere at a major international festival in the fall of that year.

From there, they aim to bring the story—and Greene’s final interview—to audiences across Canada and beyond, reinforcing the message that recovery, representation and storytelling all matter, on screen and off.
