Ex-Boyfriend Charged After B.C. Woman Found Dead

Surrey police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for 24-year-old Amarbir Singh, charged with second-degree murder in the tragic death of his former girlfriend, 28-year-old Navdeep Kaur.

Kaur was reported missing on February 23, 2024, and her disappearance quickly escalated into a homicide investigation. More than two years later, Singh now faces charges, though authorities warn he may have fled the country.

Police Pledge International Pursuit

“Singh may have left Canada, but we will not stop pursuing him,” said Sgt. Freda Fong of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT). She added that investigators are ready to collaborate with international law enforcement to ensure Singh is brought before the courts.

Discovery of Human Remains

The search for Kaur intensified over several months. In July 2024, Richmond RCMP discovered human remains near the Fraser River, later confirmed to be Kaur’s.

“Over months, a dedicated team of homicide investigators pieced together evidence and constructed a timeline of events,” IHIT reported. The collected evidence formed the basis for the charge recommendation submitted to the B.C. Prosecution Service.

Ongoing Investigation

Police continue to pursue all leads in the case, emphasizing that no matter where Singh may be, justice for Navdeep Kaur remains their top priority.
