Driver Seriously Injured in Burnaby Crash
A driver was left in critical condition after crashing their pickup truck into a tree on Sunday afternoon in Burnaby.
Crash Occurs on Willingdon Avenue
The Burnaby RCMP reported that officers were called to Willingdon Avenue, north of Price Street near Wildwood Crescent, at approximately 2 p.m. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and found the driver in urgent need of medical attention.
Paramedics Transport Driver to Hospital
BC Emergency Health Services confirmed that paramedics transported the driver to hospital in “critical condition.” Details about the driver’s identity and age have not been released.
No Signs of Impairment or Speed
Police said Monday that the crash appears not to involve impairment or speeding, though the investigation is still ongoing. “It is early in the investigation, however, impairment and speed are not believed to be contributing factors,” officials stated.
Road Reopens, Investigation Continues
Willingdon Avenue was temporarily closed while emergency crews worked on the scene but has since reopened. Burnaby RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the single-vehicle collision.
