Flyers Outscore Canucks 6-3 in Vancouver

The Vancouver Canucks struggled again at home, dropping a 6-3 decision to the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night at Rogers Arena. For much of the season, the team’s performance inside their own building has lagged, and tonight was no different as five Flyers players chipped in with multiple points.

Canucks Build Early Lead but Lose Momentum

The Canucks came out strong, dominating early play and outshooting the Flyers 10-0 in the first 10 minutes. David Kampf scored first at 3:44 of the opening period, knocking home a pass from Drew O’Connor to give Vancouver the early edge. Despite this fast start, the Flyers answered back and took control before long.

Noah Cates tied the game late in the first when his shot found its way past Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko, and Carl Grundstrom gave Philadelphia a 2-1 lead early in the second. Moments later, Travis Konecny extended that lead with a goal late in the period, putting the Canucks behind as the game headed into the third.

Late Goals Keep Flyers in Command

Vancouver made it interesting early in the third when Drew O’Connor scored to pull within one, but the Flyers quickly regained a two-goal cushion. Bobby Brink answered just seconds later, and Owen Tippett added an empty-net goal late to seal the victory. Philadelphia tacked on another empty-netter in the final minute, handing the Canucks a disappointing loss.

Individual Performances From Both Sides

For Philadelphia, five players finished with at least two points, including Cates, Brink and Konecny, while Matvei Michkov and Trevor Zegras contributed with multiple assists. Goalie Dan Vladar was strong, stopping most of the shots he faced and helping secure the road win.

On the Vancouver side, Kampf and O’Connor both factored on offence with a goal and an assist each, and Tom Willander scored late to add to the Canucks’ total. Thatcher Demko made a solid number of saves but could not slow the Flyers’ attack.

Canucks Look Ahead to Kraken Game

After this setback, the Canucks will regroup quickly as they prepare to host the Seattle Kraken on Friday evening. A win in that matchup would help offset their home struggles and build some momentum as the season continues.
