Chill Out skating nights return to Surrey Civic Plaza
Surrey residents are invited to lace up their skates and enjoy two evenings of free outdoor skating at Civic Plaza later this month, as the city hosts its popular Chill Out winter skating event.
The family-friendly celebration takes place under the covered outdoor rink at Surrey Civic Plaza on Friday, Jan. 23, and Saturday, Jan. 24, from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day. Skating at the plaza runs daily from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., with special entertainment scheduled during the evening event hours.
What to expect
Visitors can bring their own skates and enjoy free drop-in skating, or rent skates on site for $5 per pair. The plaza will feature a festive atmosphere with live music curated by FVDED in the Park, along with interactive activities and games for all ages.
An on-site café will be open throughout the event, offering warm drinks and snacks for purchase.
Daily highlights
Friday, Jan. 23 (4:00–7:30 p.m.)
Guests can enjoy live acoustic music, a bubble hockey table, and temporary airbrush tattoos while skating.
Saturday, Jan. 24 (4:00–7:30 p.m.)
Entertainment includes live folk music, a photobooth, and face painting, making it an especially popular night for families.
