Search Underway for Missing Senior in Surrey

Police in Surrey are asking the public for help after an 85-year-old man vanished from the Cloverdale area. David Hourigan, who many people call “Bob,” disappeared on the morning of March 9, 2026. Since then, no one has heard from him.

Officers say the situation raises concern. Therefore, they are urging residents to stay alert and share any information that could help locate him.

Last Seen Walking in Cloverdale

Investigators say Hourigan was last seen around 10:15 a.m. near the 18400 block of 66A Avenue in Surrey’s Cloverdale neighbourhood.

After that moment, he did not return home. In addition, he has not contacted family or friends. Because of this, police and relatives quickly began searching the area.

Meanwhile, officers continue to follow up on tips while community members spread the word online.

Description of David “Bob” Hourigan

Police describe Hourigan as:

  • Age: 85
  • Height: 5’8″
  • Weight: About 150 pounds
  • Hair: Grey
  • Eyes: Hazel
  • Facial hair: Short white beard

He likely wears a fedora-style hat and a khaki-coloured jacket, similar to what appears in a recent photo.

In addition, Hourigan may be travelling with his small brown and grey Chihuahua named Cindy.

New to the Area and Possibly Disoriented

Investigators say Hourigan recently arrived in the area. As a result, he does not know the Lower Mainland well.

Because of this, he may appear confused or disoriented if someone approaches him. Therefore, police stress that community awareness plays a key role in finding him quickly.

What To Do If You See Him

Police ask anyone with information to contact Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 and reference file number 26-9323 (SU).

If you spot David “Bob” Hourigan, officers ask you to stay with him and call police immediately until help arrives.

Meanwhile, sharing the information on social media could help bring him home safely.
