SURREY, B.C. — Drivers in Surrey and the surrounding region are being advised to plan ahead as the Pattullo Bridge and the stáləw̓asem Bridge will be fully closed for approximately one week beginning February 6, according to the City of Surrey.

The temporary closures are required to complete roadway connection work as part of the ongoing Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project. City officials say the work is necessary to safely tie in new road infrastructure and advance construction milestones.

During the closure period, motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and allow additional travel time, particularly during peak commuting hours. The City has warned that significant traffic delays are expected as traffic is redirected to other crossings in the region.

The Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project is a major regional infrastructure initiative aimed at improving safety, capacity, and reliability for commuters traveling between Surrey and New Westminster. The project includes the construction of a new four-lane bridge with dedicated cycling and pedestrian facilities.

City officials said updates will be shared as work progresses and urged residents to stay informed through official channels for reopening timelines and traffic advisories.

More information and real-time updates are available through the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project website.
