Police investigate pedestrian struck by bus in Surrey
Surrey’s Provincial Operations Support Unit is leading the probe after a shuttle-style bus hit an adult pedestrian at 56 Avenue and 180 Street. The crash happened around 5 p.m., during the early evening commute.
Firefighters and paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to hospital. Police say his injuries appear minor but doctors are still completing their assessment.
Driver cooperating; cause still under review
The bus driver stayed at the intersection and is cooperating with investigators. Officers have not yet said what may have caused the pedestrian to be struck by the bus.
Collision analysts are examining the scene, documenting road conditions, sightlines and the positions of the bus and pedestrian. Police note that it is still too early to say whether any charges will follow.
Road closures and call for witnesses
