According to SPS, sharing the images is expected to encourage witnesses, victims, or associates to come forward. Police believe members of the public may have information that can help clarify events leading up to the incident. As a result, investigators are asking anyone with knowledge to speak up.

SPS noted that photo releases are handled carefully and reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
