Surrey Police Ask for Help Locating Missing Man
Surrey police are asking the public for assistance as concern grows for a 38-year-old man who has not been seen or heard from for several days.
The Surrey Police Service, working alongside the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit, says Tommy Nguyen was last seen at about 8:30 a.m. on January 23 in the 15500 block of 109 Avenue.
Last Seen in Newton Area
Investigators say Nguyen was in the Newton neighbourhood when he was last spotted. Since then, there has been no contact with family or friends, prompting police to issue a public appeal.
Officers say efforts to locate him through routine investigative steps have so far been unsuccessful.
Description Released to Public
Nguyen is described as an Asian male, five feet five inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. Police believe he may have been wearing a blue and black camouflage-style puffy Moncler jacket at the time he disappeared, along with black and orange shoes.
Police say a photo has been released to help residents recognize him.
Police Express Growing Concern
Authorities say they are increasingly concerned for Nguyen’s well-being and are asking residents, businesses, and drivers in the area to remain alert. Officers are also encouraging people to review any surveillance or dashcam footage from the area around the time he was last seen.
Police say even small details could help move the investigation forward.
Public Asked to Come Forward
Anyone who has seen Nguyen or has information about his whereabouts is urged to contact Surrey Police Service’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502. Tips should reference file number 26-3717 (SU).
Police say information can make a critical difference and are urging the public to share the appeal through media and social platforms to help bring Nguyen home safely.
