School Bus Crash Near Quesnel Leaves Several Children Injured
A school bus accident in British Columbia’s Interior has left multiple passengers injured after the vehicle veered off the road and overturned.
Emergency crews responded to the incident Monday afternoon along Highway 26, also known as Barkerville Highway, near Sundown Road.
Bus Rolled Into Ditch With Students On Board
According to RCMP, the bus left the roadway and ended up on its side in a ditch. At the time of the crash, 16 children and the driver were on board.
Police confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Injuries Reported, Students Safely Transported
Three individuals, including children, were taken to hospital with injuries described as minor. The remaining students were safely released to their families or transferred to another bus to continue their journey.
Authorities say the quick response helped ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Investigation Into Cause Ongoing
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. RCMP say the investigation is ongoing as they work to understand what led to the bus leaving the road.
