Morgan Creek Golf Course Shines on PGA Tour Stage

Morgan Creek Golf Course in South Surrey has made headlines, snagging the prestigious 2025 PGA Tour Americas Tournament Award. The recognition comes after the course hosted the Fortinet Cup Championship earlier this year, marking its first-ever PGA Tour Americas event.

Award Highlights Excellence

The course was honored specifically for Best Sales Performance, earning praise for outstanding financial results during the tournament. Out of 16 official events this season, only six tournament awards were handed out a testament to Morgan Creek’s exceptional work.

Tom Doull, Morgan Creek’s Director of Golf Operations and tournament director for the Fortinet Cup Championship, expressed his excitement. “Our team worked incredibly hard, and to see that recognized is the cherry on top,” Doull said.

Community Support Drives Success

Doull credited the tournament’s triumph to the local community. Volunteers, ticket buyers, and nearby residents all played a role in creating an unforgettable experience. He noted that the PGA Tour Americas officials were impressed by the turnout, calling it the largest crowds they had ever seen at an event.

Local residents also shared positive feedback. “We were worried about traffic and disruption, but people said it was great and fun to have in the neighborhood,” Doull said. The overwhelming support proved Surrey could host major golf events successfully.

Looking Ahead

While the Fortinet Cup Championship will move to the Dominican Republic for the next two years, Doull did not rule out future PGA Tour Americas events in Surrey. “We gave players a real taste of the PGA Tour experience, and the response was amazing. Surrey really showed it can handle big events,” he added.
