Explosion Rocks Green Timbers Home

A sudden explosion shook the quiet Green Timbers neighborhood in Surrey on the evening of February 9, 2026. Residents were alarmed when flames erupted from a home on the 14000 block of 100A Avenue around 9:15 p.m.

Emergency Crews Respond Swiftly

Surrey Police Service (SPS) and RCMP’s Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) rushed to the scene. Officers found a man injured amid the chaos. He was promptly taken to a nearby hospital by BCEHS with injuries that are not life-threatening. Meanwhile, Surrey Fire Services quickly contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading to neighboring homes.

Investigation Underway

The RCMP SPOSU General Investigation Unit (GIU) has taken over the investigation. While authorities are still determining the exact cause of the explosion, early indications suggest it is not linked to the recent extortion cases in Surrey.
