Surrey Man Faces Charges in Cedar Hills Assault

Charges Approved After Surrey Assault Investigation

Surrey Police have confirmed that Criminal Code charges have been approved in connection with an alleged assault that took place in the Cedar Hills area.

On the evening of February 6, 2026, around 6:00 pm, a female youth was reportedly assaulted near 99 Avenue and 123 Street. Following the incident, the Surrey Police Service (SPS) Special Investigation Section (SIS) took over the investigation. After a public appeal for information, a male adult was identified and arrested.

Suspect Faces Multiple Charges

The BC Prosecution Service approved charges against a 28-year-old man on February 13, 2026. He now faces:

  • One count of forcible confinement under section 279(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of assault under section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada

The suspect has been released with strict conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on March 20, 2026.
