Surrey residents got a jolt Monday afternoon when police swarmed the Whalley neighbourhood, but authorities confirm that the situation ended without danger to the public.
Shortly before 3:15 p.m., multiple 1130 NewsRadio callers reported seeing several police cruisers near King George Boulevard and 105 Avenue. Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers had been dispatched after reports of a “person possibly armed with a knife.”
Investigation Leads to No Charges
Sgt. Tige Pollock of SPS reassured the community that the incident concluded safely. “Numerous suspects were investigated and released without charge,” he said, adding clearly that there is no ongoing threat to anyone in the area.
