Surrey boosts free Large Item Pickup with faster service, more trucks, and easy online booking to keep homes and neighbourhoods clutter-free.

Surrey Makes Large Item Pickup Faster and Easier

Surrey residents now have an even simpler way to clear out bulky household items. The City’s free Large Item Pickup program has expanded, adding more collection trucks to get residents’ old furniture, mattresses, appliances, and electronics picked up in just two to three weeks.

How It Works

Every household can schedule curbside pickups for up to six large items per year. Homes with registered secondary suites can request pickups for up to eight items annually. Booking is easy: residents can reserve a pickup online at surrey.ca/largeitems or by calling 604-590-7289 (press 3).

It’s important to note: items left at the curb without a confirmed booking may be considered illegally dumped and could lead to fines.

Mayor Highlights Convenience and Community Impact

“Providing residents with free and convenient options to dispose of unwanted items is an important part of keeping Surrey clean,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “We’ve added more vehicles so residents can schedule pickups even sooner, leaving no excuse for illegal dumping.”

Options for Larger or Immediate Disposal

For those with larger quantities of items or who need immediate disposal, Surrey offers two recycling and waste centres:

  • Central Surrey Recycling and Waste Centre – 154 Street & 67 Avenue
  • North Surrey Recycling and Waste Centre – 9770 192 Street

Residents can drop off items at these locations either for free or at a low cost, making it even easier to keep homes and streets clutter-free.

Keep Surrey Clean

By using the Large Item Pickup service or the city’s recycling facilities, residents are helping make Surrey safer and more beautiful. For more details or to schedule a pickup, visit surrey.ca/largeitems.
