Police Update on Woodbine Shooting Homicide

Toronto police have released new details about a tragic shooting that claimed the life of Chandan Kumar Raja Nandakumar, 37. Detective Sergeant Sandra Arruda of the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit, alongside York Regional Police, provided the update earlier today.


Shooting Shocks Rexdale Community

The incident occurred on Saturday, February 7, 2026, around 3:26 p.m. in the parking lot of Woodbine Shopping Centre, near Rexdale Boulevard and Highway 27. Police say officers arrived quickly after a report of a shooting and found the male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite being rushed to hospital, Nandakumar was pronounced deceased, making this Toronto’s third homicide of 2026.


Suspect Wanted: Isaiah Thomas Badger

Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for 19-year-old Isaiah Thomas Badger of Edmonton. He faces charges of first-degree murder in connection with Nandakumar’s death. Authorities urge the public not to approach him.
