Surrey police investigate two pedestrian collisions, including a fatality, causing major road closures and urging witnesses to come forward.

Fatal Collision Claims Elderly Woman in Whalley

On Wednesday night, tragedy struck the Whalley neighborhood when an 81-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle on the 13800-block of 102nd Avenue. Despite the quick response of emergency crews, the woman could not be saved.

Authorities confirmed the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating fully with police. Early reports suggest speed and impairment did not play a role in the crash.

Early Morning Collision Closes 132nd Street

Just hours later, Surrey police reported another serious pedestrian collision on the 10400-block of 132nd Street. The incident forced police to close nearby roads, including parts of 104th Avenue, for several hours.

Police have not released details about injuries but have promised more updates as the investigation continues.

Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Investigators are urging anyone who may have seen either collision—or who has dashcam footage—to contact Surrey Police at 604-599-0502. Every bit of information could be crucial in helping authorities piece together what happened.

Surrey residents are advised to avoid the affected areas while police continue their investigations. More details are expected in the coming hours.
