Police swoop on flagged house across from school

West Kelowna RCMP drug unit officers arrested two people on Friday after executing a search warrant at a property identified as a “problem house” directly across from Rutland Middle School. The home had raised safety concerns among local residents because of suspected ongoing drug activity. Police described the operation as part of a continuing effort to disrupt drug trafficking in the community.

Drugs, cash and evidence seized

During the search, officers seized various controlled substances, cash and other items consistent with drug trafficking investigations. The exact nature of the drugs and the identities of the arrested individuals were not immediately released, as the investigation is active and further details have not yet been disclosed. Residents who live close to the scene said they were relieved to see police action in an area where they had reported suspicious behaviour.

Continued focus on community safety

This search comes after a previous warrant was executed earlier in December at another West Kelowna address as part of the same probe. RCMP are encouraging members of the public to report any suspected drug trafficking or illegal weapons activity so they can continue efforts to make neighbourhoods around schools and other community spaces safer.
