Two men face kidnapping charges after a Vancouver home invasion. Police quickly tracked the suspects and rescued the victim safely.
Late-Night Home Invasion Sparks Urgent 911 Call
A quiet evening in East Vancouver quickly turned tense when a shocking home invasion unfolded. Around 9:15 p.m., a 911 call alerted police to a disturbing situation — a man had reportedly been taken from his own home.
According to investigators, the 62-year-old victim was forced into a vehicle, setting off a fast-moving police response.
Police Track Suspects Within Minutes
Soon after the call, officers located the suspect vehicle near Slocan Street and East Broadway. However, instead of stopping, the driver sped away.
As a result, police launched a pursuit. The chase continued through city streets until officers managed to corner the vehicle near 14th Avenue and Woodland Drive.
Quick Action Leads to Arrests
Once boxed in, the suspects attempted to flee on foot. Nevertheless, officers, along with a police dog unit, moved in quickly. Both men were arrested shortly after trying to escape.
Because of the rapid response, the situation was brought under control in under an hour.
Charges Laid, Suspects in Custody
Authorities have now charged two men — ages 26 and 24 — with kidnapping. Meanwhile, both remain in custody as the investigation continues.
Although details about the victim’s condition have not been widely shared, the swift police action likely prevented a far more serious outcome.
Investigation Still Ongoing
While the incident has raised concerns, police continue to gather more information. At this point, the exact motive remains unclear.
However, what is certain is this: thanks to quick thinking and coordinated effort, a dangerous situation was stopped before it could escalate further.
