The wait is over — White Rock Concerts is returning this fall with a new season of unforgettable classical music performances. The subscription series begins on October 18 at White Rock Baptist Church and promises world-class artistry in an intimate, community setting.
Launching the season is the acclaimed Cheng Duo, siblings Bryan Cheng on cello and Silvie Cheng on piano. Their program, Unravelling Ravel, highlights works by Debussy, de Falla, Mussorgsky, and Ravel, weaving a common thread through impressionist and impressionism-inspired music.
For almost seven decades, White Rock Concerts has brought extraordinary performances to the Peninsula. Under the direction of Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann, also known as the Bergmann Piano Duo, the series continues to offer fresh, exciting experiences for audiences of all ages.
Unlike big-city venues, this series keeps world-class talent accessible. Subscriptions are $180 per seat for the season, while students under 25 pay only $60. Remarkably, the series no longer carries the long waiting list that was once standard before the pandemic.
This season also emphasizes Canadian pride. Every featured artist is Canadian-born or based in Canada, yet holds international acclaim. From chamber ensembles to solo performers, the lineup celebrates Canadian talent while maintaining global standards.

Organizers say the series stands out not only for its quality but also its accessibility. “We want audiences to experience the same artistry they would hear in major cities, but right here at home,” said artistic director Elizabeth Bergmann.
With diverse programming and affordable subscriptions, White Rock Concerts continues to shape the cultural landscape of the Peninsula, giving local audiences the gift of world-class music without leaving their community.
