A tropical-themed Surrey fundraiser collected $550K to boost youth wellness, marking a major win for community spirit and future generations.
Surrey’s Night of Giving: A Dream Come True
Surrey’s Isle of Dreams fundraiser turned a tropical evening into a life-changing moment for hundreds of young people. Hosted by the Sources Foundation, the vibrant event brought in over $550,000 to support youth services across the city including the upcoming Foundry South Surrey–White Rock, a free walk-in wellness hub for teens and young adults.
Held on November 9 at the elegant Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club, more than 200 guests gathered with one shared purpose to uplift the next generation.
A Community United for Youth
The atmosphere was electric. From steel drum beats to Polynesian dancers, every detail of the evening celebrated warmth, generosity, and unity. Emceed by Global BC’s Mark Madryga and guided by auctioneer Howard Blank, the night overflowed with enthusiasm and remarkable generosity.
“We went in hoping to raise $425,000,” shared Paul Cope, Scotiabank’s Senior Vice-President and event co-chair. “Surpassing that goal showed just how much our community cares about supporting young people.”
Chuck Keeling, Executive VP of Great Canadian Entertainment and co-chair of the event, echoed the sentiment:
“You could feel the energy people were genuinely excited to make a difference. It was inspiring to watch that generosity in action.”
Heartfelt Gratitude from Sources Foundation
David MacIntyre, President and CEO of Sources Foundation, couldn’t hide his appreciation.
“I’m overwhelmed by the support we received and deeply grateful for everyone who made Isle of Dreams a success,” he said. “This will create real, lasting impact for youth in Surrey.”
The foundation expressed special thanks to sponsors, donors, and volunteers including Save-On-Foods and Scotiabank, the night’s co-presenting sponsors.
Beyond the Gala: Building Brighter Futures
Every dollar raised goes toward programs designed to help youth thrive ensuring access to mental health care, mentorship, and wellness support when it’s needed most.
In the glow of the Isle of Dreams, Surrey proved once again that when a community comes together with kindness and purpose, amazing things happen.
