Atlas Tower will bring 463 new rental homes to Surrey City Centre, boosting affordable housing with a 42-storey mixed-use high-rise near King George Station.

Surrey is set to welcome a major addition to its rapidly expanding skyline as developer Townline confirms plans to build Atlas Tower, a 42-storey mixed-use high-rise in the heart of Surrey City Centre. The project will add 463 purpose-built rental apartments, addressing the region’s critical demand for affordable and long-term housing options.

The new tower will rise at 10744 King George Boulevard, one of Surrey’s most connected neighbourhoods, offering immediate access to rapid transit, key employment hubs, retail spaces, and community amenities. Townline says the development is designed to support the city’s vision of a dense, transit-oriented urban core.

Purpose-Built Rentals to Ease Surrey’s Housing Pressure

Housing affordability remains a growing challenge across Metro Vancouver, and Surrey now one of B.C.’s fastest-growing cities is feeling that pressure acutely. The addition of 463 rental homes is expected to significantly increase available housing supply and help stabilize rental demand in the area.

Atlas Tower will offer a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, providing options for students, working professionals, families, and newcomers. The development also incorporates a podium featuring ground-floor retail, which will enhance walkability and bring new services to the surrounding neighbourhood.

A High-Rise Designed for Urban Living

According to the project’s early design details, Atlas Tower will include modern amenities tailored to urban residents, such as fitness facilities, social spaces, and indoor–outdoor community areas. Its proximity to the King George SkyTrain Station is expected to encourage transit usage and reduce reliance on vehicles.

The tower’s sleek architectural profile is set to stand out among Surrey’s growing collection of high-rise developments, marking another step in the transformation of the City Centre into a major metropolitan hub.

Part of Surrey’s Long-Term Urban Development Vision

City planners have emphasized the need for high-density residential projects to accommodate Surrey’s booming population. With thousands of new residents arriving each year, large-scale rental developments like Atlas Tower are crucial to sustaining growth while ensuring accessibility, affordability, and quality of living.

Once complete, Atlas Tower is expected to become a landmark address in Surrey, contributing to the city’s evolving identity as a centre for jobs, housing, education, and innovation.
