Emergency rail repairs will shut 200 St. in Langley for two days. Expect detours and delays near Hwy. 10 from Nov. 24–25, 2025.
Emergency Rail Repairs Shut Down Busy Langley Street
Langley drivers, get ready to adjust your routes! A major thoroughfare, 200 Street near Highway 10, will close for two days starting Monday, November 24, 2025. Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) crews will carry out urgent railway repairs, prompting the full shutdown.
According to the Ministry of Transportation and Transit, the closure runs from 7 a.m. Monday until 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 25. Motorists should expect delays and plan alternate routes in advance.
Traffic Changes and Detour Plans
During the closure, all southbound lanes just north of Highway 10 will be redirected, forcing drivers to turn either east or west onto Highway 10. Additionally, westbound left-turn lanes and eastbound right-turn lanes at the intersection will be closed completely.
Drivers are advised to follow posted signs carefully and check real-time updates on DriveBC.ca. The ministry recommends leaving extra travel time to navigate the detours safely.
What We Know About the Repairs
While details about the emergency work remain scarce, photos from Sunday showed new replacement track and precast concrete panels staged at the crossing. Officials have yet to disclose the exact cause behind the sudden repairs.
CPKC, the company handling the work, was formed in 2023 following the merger of Canadian Pacific Railway and Kansas City Southern. This unique railway now links Canada, the United States, and Mexico with a network spanning roughly 32,000 kilometres.
Stay Safe and Plan Ahead
Commuters in Langley should brace for disruption. While detours exist, extra caution is essential around construction zones. Keeping an eye on traffic updates can save time and frustration during this two-day closure.
