Noel Surrey & Bright Nights Light Festival Shines Until Dec. 28

The magic of Noel Surrey continues at Cloverdale Fairgrounds through December 28. Festival-goers have just a few days left to ride the Ferris wheel, with the last chance on Friday, December 19. Bumper cars and the Berry-Go-Round open the following day, December 20. Note that the festival will be closed on December 24 and 25. This is your perfect opportunity to snap photos with Santa, stroll through the Bright Nights light walk, and soak up the festive atmosphere.


Music & Concerts

Christmas Pipe Organ Concert – Enjoy a family-friendly afternoon of seasonal sacred music on December 20 at Maranatha Canadian Reformed Church, featuring organist Frank Ezinga and timeless classics on a 1912 heritage pipe organ.

Guru Kiran in Concert – Celebrate Namma Karnataka Rajyotsava with live music and dance on January 18 at Bell Performing Arts Centre.

Jazz Vespers in the Valley – Select Sundays from fall to spring, Northwood United Church hosts hour-long jazz concerts blending music and reflection.


Theatre & Stage Highlights

The Little Mermaid – Catch the Royal Canadian Theatre Company’s British-style pantomime from December 19 to 28 at Surrey Arts Centre. Expect whimsical fun, laughs, and memorable characters.

O Christmas Tea – On December 27, London’s award-winning duo James and Jamesy bring British humor and holiday spirit to the Bell Performing Arts Centre.

Burning Mom – A one-woman comedy show at Surrey Arts Centre (Jan. 14–24) inspired by real-life events, starring award-winning actress Susinn McFarlen.

Bingo – Peninsula Productions stages this fast-paced comedy Jan. 22–25, exploring friendship and nostalgia at a 30-year high school reunion.

Other notable performances include Pizzazz, The Savannah Disputation, and Footnotes.

Colours of Punjab – Celebrate South Asian culture with music and dance on December 20 at Bell Performing Arts Centre.

TedXSurrey: A Shift in Thinking – On January 24, hear 12 inspiring talks, enjoy entertainment, food, and community activities aimed at sparking new ideas.

Focus on Seniors Webinar Series – Free online sessions offering tips and resources for seniors to stay engaged and safe in the community.


Holiday Fun for Families

WinterFest – The Museum of Surrey hosts festive displays, scavenger hunts, and hands-on activities through December 20.

Skating at Surrey Civic Plaza – Glide on ice through February 16, with rentals available for just $5 per pair.

Bear Creek Christmas Train – Daytime and nighttime rides bring the magic of the season to life, including a visit from the Grinch.

Winter Ice Palace – Skate in a winter wonderland at Cloverdale Arena, complete with festive lights and music.
