Surrey Hosts Empowering Women’s Day High Tea
This March, Surrey will be buzzing with inspiration as former B.C. Premier Christy Clark joins Mayor Brenda Locke for an intimate High Tea in honor of International Women’s Day. Hosted by the SurreyCares Community Foundation, this special event promises heartfelt conversations, live music, and a chance to support local causes.
Fireside Chat with Trailblazing Leaders
Clark and Locke, two influential women in public leadership, will share their personal journeys, the hurdles they’ve overcome, and lessons they hope to pass to the next generation. Described as a “thought-provoking fireside chat,” this session aims to motivate and empower attendees while highlighting women’s achievements in politics and community service.
A Celebration of Community and Culture
Taking place at the Civic Hotel on Friday, March 6, the event features a string trio from the Surrey City Orchestra and a curated silent auction of one-of-a-kind items and experiences. Attendees can purchase tickets for $150, or reserve a table for ten at $1,400, with all proceeds supporting SurreyCares’ vital programs.
“By joining this celebration, you help SurreyCares continue building a stronger, healthier community,” the organization notes, emphasizing the impact of local donors.
