More Canadians Register With Ottawa

Officials say more travellers are signing up with Global Affairs Canada as airlines restart routes in and out of Puerto Vallarta. At the same time, the online registration system has faced intermittent delays.
As a result, travellers have been urged to remain patient while completing the process.
Flights Resume, Movement Increases
Several carriers have resumed service to the popular destination after earlier disruptions. Therefore, more Canadians are arriving, departing or adjusting their travel plans.
The increase in registrations suggests travellers want to stay connected with Ottawa in case conditions change.
Officials encourage Canadians abroad to enrol in the Registration of Canadians Abroad service. The system allows the government to share updates during emergencies.
System Struggles With Demand
However, the surge in traffic has put pressure on the platform. Users reported slow response times and temporary access issues throughout the day.
Even so, the department says the tool remains active and continues to process new entries.
