Fatal Collision Under Investigation in Cedar Hills
Surrey Police Service is investigating a deadly pedestrian crash that happened late Friday night in the Cedar Hills area.
Emergency crews responded shortly after 9:30 p.m. on February 13, 2026, to reports of a pedestrian struck along 128 Street.
Young Woman Dies at Scene
Police say a vehicle travelling northbound on 128 Street from 96 Avenue struck a 22-year-old woman at approximately 9:37 p.m.
Surrey Fire Services, BC Emergency Health Services and frontline officers rushed to the scene. Despite life-saving efforts, the woman died from her injuries.
The driver remained at the scene following the collision.
Impairment May Be a Factor
SPS’s Collision Investigation Unit has taken over the investigation. At this early stage, officers say impairment may have contributed to the crash.
The driver was taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation. Police have not released further details about potential charges.
Road Closures in Effect
Northbound traffic on 128 Street between 96 Avenue and 97 Avenue, along with nearby side roads and intersections, is expected to remain closed for several hours while investigators gather evidence.
Police are advising motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
Witnesses Asked to Come Forward
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash to contact Surrey Police Service’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502.
